The signature motif of the Venetian gondolier with its sinuous reflection can be understood as a simple visual metaphor or is there more?

A Taste of Venice

Canal Grando is a new line of wines specially conceived for the American palette by the Bosco Malera Winery, based in the Veneto region of Italy.

The signature motif of the Venetian gondolier with its sinuous reflection can be understood as a simple visual metaphor. It’s also a play on the mechanics of using a corkscrew, giving a quirkier interpretation that deftly sidesteps the traditional, clichéd image of a famous cultural icon.

The association of uncorking a bottle of wine with the graceful advance of a gondola is to anticipate a certain taste sensation, of being transported somewhere else, somewhere more sublime.

Three D.O.C approved wines have so far been selected, including a fruity and refreshing Pinot Grigio, a dry Rosé sparkling wine and a red wine that blends Merlot and Cabernet varietals. The silver and gold matte foil closures and embossed visuals on each of the wine labels are colour coded depending up the type of wine, rounding off the designs.
